This week Tracy over at Craft Junkie Too challenged us to make something that had to do with Spring. Make sure and stop by her blog today to check out what the other gals came up with. She has been having her readers participate for the chance to be a featured guest designer for the next challenge.
My card is a slightly unusual size. It is 4 by 5 and 1/2 inches, instead of the usual 4 and 1/4 by 5 and 1/2. The reason was that I wanted that base layer of orange, and my scrap was only 4 inches wide. So... I used it anyways and modified the card size :) I'm trying to use up my scraps!
I did some doodling around that base layer of orange using a pink marker from Stampin' Up. Then I added a pink layer that measures 3 and 3/4 by 5 and 1/4. I tied a cute orange ribbon around my card and tied a bow.
The sweet little girl and her accessories are cut from Once Upon a Princess at 4.25 inches. I wish I had some Peachy Keen face stamps, but I don't. So, I have to make due by drawing on the faces by hand - which I don't think I'm very good at. However, I still think my hand drawn face is cuter than the Cricut face. The sparkle on her cheeks is from some Fruit Punch Stickles.
I also doodled lines in her hair, some stitching lines, and some hearts on her rain boots. I used Stickles for her buttons and the top of her umbrella - the color of those is Magenta.
I wanted to place my sentiment inside the umbrella for something fun and different, so I used My Pink Stamper's set Everyday Occasions for a simple "Hello."
The colors of this card make me smile :) I feel like the rain accessories and happy colors say "Spring" to me. I hope maybe it brings a little sunshine to your day as well. Thanks for visiting me today!
