You're My Sunshine Rainbow Card

I will be stepping down a little bit early from my position as the design team leader for SP & Company.

I have recently been offered some new positions to design for some fun challenges and such, and now my schedule will be much more hectic.  Samantha also needs some fresh blood to help make a wider audience aware of her fabulous stamps.

After she and I spent some time discussing it we found it may be a bit easier to end my term a bit early so she can fill the position and I can concentrate more fully on my other commitments.  Since we are friends we wanted to make this easy for both of us - and ending things a bit early seemed like a simple solution.

For the time being she'll be her own DT leader, but she'll be looking for a new team very soon if you're interested.

I will still be designing with the stamps and sharing some projects, just like I do with my other crafty goodies.

So, here is my last "official" project as the DT leader.

The card measures 4 and 1/4 square when folded.  I used Kraft colored cardstock for the base.

I stamped a cloud background from Hero Arts using Soft Sky ink and cut that layer to 4 inches square.  I went around the edges of that piece with Waterfall Stickles to create a glittery frame of sorts.

The rainbow was stamped in Memento ink from the SP & Company Lucky Day stamp set.  I colored it in using Stampin' Up's markers in the colors Real Red, Only Orange, YoYo Yellow, Garden Green, Brilliant Blue, and Lovely Lilac.  I went over the rainbow with some Glossy Accents.  I wanted the coat to be even and thin, so I used a scrap of cardstock to gently scrape over it, helping the coating be flat and remove a little of the excess.  Then I sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds glitter from Stampin' Up.  I set this aside to dry and then cut it out.

The pot of gold is also from the Lucky Day set and was colored using YoYo Yellow and Garden Green.  I went over the gold with Gold Stickles, and the pot with Green Stickles.

The sentiment along the bottom is from SP & Company's Rain Boots, and is stamped in Perfect Plum Ink.  Even though Lucky Day comes with a lot of it's own fabulous sentiments I really loved this one for this particular card.

I think this would be a wonderful card to brighten someone's day when they are feeling down, to encourage them to get well quickly, or maybe just to show them how very special they are!  Perhaps I went a bit crazy with the glitter, but I sure had fun doing it :)

Love the glitter! I'm sure you'll be missed. I know all about having a full plate, though.
