Happy Birthday to My BFF

This is the card I made for my best friend's birthday.  I used the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge.  I cut the girl at 5 inches, and I cut the purse at 1 inch.  I cut a little slit in the handle of the purse so I could slip it over her arm.  All the papers are from a We R Memory Keepers Stack called Tiffany's, and that's where the ribbon slide and star are from as well.  I stamped the sentiment with a My Pink Stamper Stamp in Chocolate Chip ink by Stampin Up.

Usually I find it nearly impossible to mix to many patterns, but in this case I think it worked out pretty well.  I just love all the color it has.  I originally envisioned a totally different project (as usual) but this is what came out in the end.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tulip Basket Card

I thought I'd try my hand at watercoloring again, and I ended up using the same stamp set I used last time I tried the technique.  The set is A Flower For All Seasons by Stampin' Up.

I used all Stammpin' Up products for this card, except I used Brown Staz on, which I don't think they sell.  I stamped onto watercolor paper and then used an Aqua Painter to add the color.  When I was finished coloring I cut out the image.  I mounted it onto a 1 and 1/2 inch square of a really pale pink, followed by a 2 inch square of darker pink.  I did a 3 inch square of light green, which I did some paper piercing on, using the Mat Pack to help me line it up nicely, which by the way I LOVE!!!!  This all went onto my 4 inch square card, which is the same pale pink as the smallest square.

I think this is a great all purpose kind of a card.  Would work for Mother's Day, Thank You, Get Well, Congrats, kind of whatever.
I'm not sure about the whole watercoloring thing.  I don't feel very good at it.  I do like how soft the effect is though, so I'm sure I'll try it again.

When I do my watercoloring my Staz On Ink seems to run a little bit and bleed!  I don't know if it's the watercolor paper, or that I use too much water, or what.  If anyone is better at this type of thing and has tips for me, that would be great!

Neighborhood Card w/ a Video

I did this card for Kristina Werner's one layer challenge.  http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/

One layer meant no embellishments at all, but I still wanted to create something really vibrant.  This is what I came up with.  It was really fun to do something different and push myself a bit, I think it really brought me out of a stamping slump I've been in!

Jammin' Scrapbook Page w/ a Video

I made this page using only the Paisley Cricut cartridge.  I think this is one of my favorite pages ever!  I am so glad my husband snapped these ADORABLE photos of my daughter dancing while wearing my tennis shoes.  What a wonderful memory to preserve!

I do know that the music notes on the left side of the page that have been flipped are not "real music notes."  I just liked the look better with things leaning that way to match my daughter's sway.

On the video I detail all the sizing, explain how the shoes layer, and show when the fit to length button, and the OK button can come in handy while cutting on my Expression.   For those of you that don't want to watch the video the shoes are on pg 52 and the rest is all on page 62.

Have a wonderful, crafty day!

Hip Chick Layout w/ a Video

Here's a simple page I just completed of my daughter.  If you'd like to see me put it together I have a short video.  I made sure and sped things up so it would move really quickly :)  Enjoy!

My First Vlog

I thought I'd try something different and just say hi and show you my messy desk and some works in progress.  Just something for fun and to stay in touch with everyone.  Not sure if you'll enjoy it or not.  If you like the little glimpse into my messy room and such let me know, and I may start doing Vlogs on occasion.

The majority of my videos will always be tutorials!  I have had some people tell me that sometimes my videos seem almost "too perfect" because I spend so much time editing and all.  The reason for that is that it makes it easier for me to do voiceovers and such than have to talk the whole time I craft, and also, I feel that your time is valuable, so I make the videos as short as I can without cutting out important info :)  I only take 10 full minutes if I really need it.  So, I think maybe some occasional videos like this will be a bit more "real" for those of you that like that type of thing.

Dog Gone Cute Scrapbook Page, Video

Here's a video of me putting together a scrapbook page with the Cricut.  I show how to put one of the dogs from Paisley together and show a bit of how I set up some sizing of the title in my Gypsy too.

Trying a New Blog Design

I decided I wanted to try something different with my blog's design.  I also added some fun things like a button you can grab, and a few new pages, like one with some links on it.

I'll be making more changes later, but this is a good start :)

One of the things I'm most excited about is the links page at the top.  If you'd like to become sister blogs and link to me, and have me link back to you check out this page for details.

Gone Buggy Bag w/ a Video & a Little Helper Too

Wouldn't this be adorable to hand out at a crop?  I had a blast putting it together, and my little daughter "helped" so you get get a cute glimpse of her at the end of the video.

My Attempt At Watercoloring With Markers

Recently I ordered some of Stampin' Up's watercolor paper because I had heard really good things about it.  This stamp is from their set A Flower For All Seasons and I thought it would be just perfect to try this out on.  I colored parts lightly with the markers first and then used a wet paint brush to move the color.  It was fun, and since this image is small, it went really quickly.  The "thinking of you" is from their Trendy Trees set.  The ribbon is just from the craft store, but it's a brown color, for some reason it seems to look black in the photo.

This certainly is a different approach for me.  Light colors and all, but what fun!  I think it's great to try new things, and keep all my cards from looking too much alike :)
