A Simple Butterfly Card

This card went together very quickly and I love that I could use it for a variety of occasions since there's no sentiment on the front.

The base is a standard white A2 card.  The layer is a 3 and 3/4 by 5 inch piece up on Pop Dot's.

The swirl was stamped with the Hero Arts set Brush Strokes using Stampin' Up's Certainly Celery Ink.

I stamped the butterfly directly on top of the swirl.  It's from Maya Road's Ornate Vintage Butterflies and stamped in Stampin' Up's Orchid Opulence ink.

I cut out this entire piece and adhered it to my card layer.  Then I added a mini clothespin at the top.

I tore 3 stripes of washi tape and hand them get longer toward the bottom, aligning all of them with the same edge.

Finally I used a piece of silver glitter tape along the side of the layer.  It was pretty thick to start with so I cut it into a more narrow piece.

Normally I don't make such quick cards, but I'm very pleased with the results here.

Have a wonderful and very crafty day!

Butterflies Card

The first thing I need to mention is that this design was originally done by the talented Anya over at My Creative Corner.  Here is her original post.

Since I was looking at her lovely card most of the designing was already done for me.  I'll list the products I used :)

Silhouette with Echo Park Butterfly #39307

Yellow Papers: Here & Now 6 by 6 pad Lori Whitlock & Echo Park

Butterflies embellished with Bisque colored Liquid Pearls and Yellow Stickles.  To make sure the wings will stay up and dimensional I attached the center of the butterflies with mini glue dots, and then used pop dots on both sides of the centers.  This means the wings won't get pushed flat.  It also means I couldn't put it in a regular envelope and mail it or the wings would easily become bend and smashed.

Main Pattern: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook 6 by 6 pad.  This layer is up on pop dots.  The plain yellow is flat to the card base.

Faux stitching done with Bordering Blue marker from Stampin' Up.

I used washi tape on both sides.

Thanks for visiting!

Love You Card

I thought I'd put something together that would work well for Valentine's Day.

All of the papers i used are from the Dear Lizzy 6 by 6 paper pad Lucky Charm.

The card is a standard A2 size, so 4 and 1/4 by 5 and 1/2.

The notebook layer is 3 and 3/4 by 5.

The kraft colored layer is 3 by 4 and 1/4.

The strip along the bottom is 1/2 inch wide.

The wooden element is from Studio Calico.  I stamped on it in Night of Navy Ink by Stampin' Up.  I used the SP & Company set Mini Card Creations 1.

The heart was cut with my Silhouette.  I put it up on pop dots and went around the edge with Cotton Candy Stickles.

The last embellishment was just a strip of washi tape.

This was pretty quick to put together and I love the eclectic mix of patterns.  What a fun paper pad to work with, it's got a whole lot of different things in it!

Thanks for visiting!

Gorjuss Card With a Rabbit

I just love this image.  We have 2 adorable rabbits of our own so it was a must have.  It's from Gorjuss and it's called I Love You Little Rabbit.  I used copics to color it.  For blacks and grays I used: 100, N6, N4, and N2.  For the bunny I used E35 an E33 - the little tail is very fluffy because I used some white Liquid Applique.  Totally cute in person :)  For skin tones I used E00 and E21 with RV42 on the cheeks.  For the purples I used V09 and V17.  For the green I just used YG07.

Her dress features Star Dust Stickles on the dots.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Mi Casa.

The gems are all Irock.

Then I finished off with some strips of washi tape and some faux stitching done with a Copic Multiliner.

This was a fun one.  I am really, really learning to love making easy to mail cards.  Another bonus is that they fit in my card organizer SO much more easily.

Have a great Friday and a fabulous weekend!

Friends Are the Chocolate Chips Card

Here's another nearly flat clean card.  I don't know what's gotten into me lately but I'm enjoying this style more and more.  I still love layers and glitter, but it's nice to do other things and not get stuck in a rut.

Along the top I just have a strip of washi tape.  The button is from Papertrey Ink and it's threaded with some crochet thread.

The cookie comes from Fiskars The Sweet Life.  It's colored with E33, E35, and E47 Copics.  I stamped it first and then masked it off so that it would look like it was sitting in front of the milk bottle.

The milk bottle image comes from W Plus 9 Milk and Cookies.  Seriously this set is SO cute.  I just got it and am in love :)  I stamped it in Bordering Blue from Stampin Up.  I added a touch of shading to the milk with my Copics using N2 dabbed onto 0 to get a subtle bit of shading.

The sentiment is from Jim's Rubber stamps - I purchased it on Ebay.  I stamped it in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

Simple and fun!  I have always been totally obsessed with cards and layouts that have to do with food.  Not sure why, but I think they are SO cute.

Crafty hugs and best wishes to you all!

Seize the Cupcake

This is about as clean and simple as I get!  *LOL*

The faux stitching was done with a Copic Multiliner.

The stamp set used was Hero Arts Cupcakes.

I colored the cupcakes with my Copics and didn't bother with any shading at all.  I just left them plain and simple.  Although I did add a subtle bit of glitter and shine with some glitter glue - it didn't photograph well.

The washi tape is from My Mind's Eye and it's their Adorbs collection.

That's it!  Other than a little time spent on simple coloring this was so quick I could see doing it for mass production.

Glad you came to visit :)

The Sky's the Limit Grungy Card

Here's a grungy card I whipped up.  Not my usual style, but I like it.

The background is the Tweed Pattern Stamp from Hero Arts.  I just used some white pigment ink over grey cardstock and it came out beautifully.

I rounded the top left corners of both layers on a 1/2 inch setting with my Corner Chomper.

The little bird is a brad I purchased from Oriental Trading.

The sentiment and large arrow are rub ons from 3 birds I purchased a long time ago and am trying to use up.

The green button is from the $1 section at Michael's.  The blue button is from Stampin' Up and was free during the last Sale-a-bration.  Both of them are threaded with some embroidery floss.

I used some chevron washi along the bottom of the kraft layer.

The little clothespin meant I needed to put the kraft layer up on pop dots, but I like the look of pop dots anyhow so that was no big deal.

I used some mirrored and regular sprarkly gems from Irock.

I used a large white brad from my stash.

I used the Papertrey ink set Grunge me to create some splatter effects on the kraft layer.

I used some Bisque colored liquid pearls as well.

There's so much going on here so I hope I listed anything you may have wondered about.

My daughter went crazy for this, my husband was polite - but I could tell he hated it!  *LOL*  Personally I really like it.  I'm not sure if I'm any good at this type of style or not, but I sure had fun trying.  The worst thing that can happen is a little paper in the trash - so don't be afraid to experiment, you just may like what you come up with :)

Thanks for visiting me :)

Classy & Fabulous Washi Tape Card

This one was super quick and easy.

Its' a standard A2 sized card base.  The top 2 corners are rounded on a 1/2 inch setting on my Corner Chomper.

I made faux stitching lines all around the edges with a Copic Multiliner.

The little heart is left over from the Glittered Hearts Card I made a little bit ago.  I just covered it in Versamark and Midnight Black Embossing Powder by Stampendous.

The sentiment is from Pink By Design's set Shopaholic.  It's embossed with the same powder.

The metal strip is from Mark Richards and they are called Nailheads.

Along the bottom I just used 2 different kinds of washi tape and laid them out in strips across the card.

I like that this one is pretty flat, it would be good for mailing.

Thanks for your visit :)

Hello Lovely

To be honest I think I over did it on this card by adding too many elements, but I'm still going to give it to someone.  If I made it again I'd simplify.

I wanted to play around with my washi tape so I created the little panel to look a bit like patterned cardstock.  It's just the same design in 2 different colors.  The panel is popped up for a bit of dimension.

The medallion stamp is from Papertrey Ink's Mehndi Medallion Mini set.  The detail it has is really breathtaking.  I added a bunch of Irock gems to various spots in the medallion.  It adds lots of sparkle.

The ribbon is from Papertrey ink.  I put it around the card base, and then again around the popped up washi panel in the same spot to give the look of a clean line even though with the layering it's obvious the ribbon is not all one piece.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Happy for You set.  I just love the font and thought it went well with the elegant medallion.

A few more I rock gems in the bottom left and I was all done.

There's my little creation for today.  I think this sentiment is a good just because card for a friend.  It's nice to say something a little different once in awhile instead of always using the same phrases.

Washi Tape Hello Card

The card base is a grey cardstock.

I started with 3 strips of washi tape that I flagged the ends of.  They are all from Doodlebug in their Swiss Dot Pattern.  The colors are called Swimming Pool, Beetle Black, and Bubblegum.

After I adhered the strips I created some black faux stitching lines around them with my Basic Black Stampin' Up marker.

The top 2 corners are rounded at 1/2 inch.

The stamps are from Stampin' Up's Elementary Elegance set.

The black bling has been in my stash a long time and I don't know the brand.

The mirrored gems are all from Irock.  I just scattered them around until I liked the look.

Have a crafty day!
