Thank You Card With An Inked Background

I wish this had photographed better!  In person you can clearly see the white embossing.

I wanted to try out a cool technique for using an ink pad direct to the paper.  I used a white piece of cardstock cut to 4 by 5 and 1/4 inches.  I used Stampin' Up inks Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore.  I did most of the real swiping and designing with the Tempting Turquoise and then just lightly swiped with broad strokes to fill in the rest with touches of the Green Galore.

After creating my background I stamped a pretty dandelion image in Versamark and embossed it in white.  It's from the Close to My Heart set Treasures.  The sentiment is from the same set stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I added a couple of Irock gems.

I used some pretty silver ribbon from Offray wrapped around the card 3 times and then tied in a bow right on the dandelion stem.

For my final step I layered my white inked piece on black cardstock the size of an A2 card.

This actually worked up very quickly and I'm really thrilled with the inking.  It's pretty neat in person.  I have some other ideas for how I could use this technique :)

Thanks for visiting!
