Dino Party Card

 

I just couldn't help myself, these dinos had to party!  *LOL*

I made this card to fit into a business size envelope.  It measures 3 and 1/2 by 8 and 1/2 when folded.

All the dinos come from the Stampendous set called Prehistoric Party.  I stamped them all and then colored them in using my Copics.  For finishing touches I added some Wink of Stella glitter brush and some Crystal Effects.  All the party hats are shiny along with the balloons.

I used a couple strips of patterned paper along the top and bottom of the card for more fun color and the sentiment.  I believe this paper was from DCWV.

Gingerbread Card

This adorable gingerbread was stamped from SP & Company's Cutest Gingerbread man set.  I colored her with Copics.  Her cheeks have some Stickles and I used Liquid Pearls on her mouth and frosting.  I used real buttons to cover her stamped ones.

The sentiment came from the Hero Arts set called Sending Holiday Cheer.

To make the card more fun I added a couple of little rolling pins I'd gotten in a pack of holiday shaped buttons.  Then I finished off with a whole bunch of sequins

This is the very last holiday card I have to share!  So, now I can move on to more current projects :)

A House Themed Christmas Card

Here's another one of the holiday cards I sent out this year.

I used a really great set from Hero Arts called Sending Holiday Cheer.  A lot of the time I mix and match stamp sets to get exactly what I want.  In this case I just loved the way the set worked together and didn't use any other sets.

I did all of my coloring with my Copics.  Honestly I wish I had played a bit more with the shading, but I do love the fun colors I used.

Gorjuss Card With a Rabbit

I just love this image.  We have 2 adorable rabbits of our own so it was a must have.  It's from Gorjuss and it's called I Love You Little Rabbit.  I used copics to color it.  For blacks and grays I used: 100, N6, N4, and N2.  For the bunny I used E35 an E33 - the little tail is very fluffy because I used some white Liquid Applique.  Totally cute in person :)  For skin tones I used E00 and E21 with RV42 on the cheeks.  For the purples I used V09 and V17.  For the green I just used YG07.

Her dress features Star Dust Stickles on the dots.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Mi Casa.

The gems are all Irock.

Then I finished off with some strips of washi tape and some faux stitching done with a Copic Multiliner.

This was a fun one.  I am really, really learning to love making easy to mail cards.  Another bonus is that they fit in my card organizer SO much more easily.

Friends Are the Chocolate Chips Card

Here's another nearly flat clean card.  I don't know what's gotten into me lately but I'm enjoying this style more and more.  I still love layers and glitter, but it's nice to do other things and not get stuck in a rut.

Along the top I just have a strip of washi tape.  The button is from Papertrey Ink and it's threaded with some crochet thread.

The cookie comes from Fiskars The Sweet Life.  It's colored with E33, E35, and E47 Copics.  I stamped it first and then masked it off so that it would look like it was sitting in front of the milk bottle.

The milk bottle image comes from W Plus 9 Milk and Cookies.  Seriously this set is SO cute.  I just got it and am in love :)  I stamped it in Bordering Blue from Stampin Up.  I added a touch of shading to the milk with my Copics using N2 dabbed onto 0 to get a subtle bit of shading.

The sentiment is from Jim's Rubber stamps - I purchased it on Ebay.  I stamped it in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

Simple and fun!  I have always been totally obsessed with cards and layouts that have to do with food.  Not sure why, but I think they are SO cute.

Goldilocks

I just LOVE this sweet image from Kraftin' Kimmie.  Her name is Goldilocks.  She's colored with Copics and popped up on a layer of foam tape.

For the background I wanted to create a quilt with paper.  I thought it would go well with the image.  I used the My Mind's Eye Blush 6 by 6 pad and cut 1 inch squares.  I glued them all together and then stamped some stitching with SP & Company's Stitchery Doo set using Hero Arts Chalk Ink in Latte.

I did a little trick to make the kraft border even.  My card is actually 4 and 1/4 by 5 and 1/4.  That way I could work with simple 1 inch squares and still have a nice even border.  No one would really notice unless they set it next to a 4 and 1/4 by 5 and 1/2 inch card, and even so - who cares.  It can easily be put in a regular A2 envelope.  Sometimes a simple solution is best.  Just go with what works and don't over-complicate it :)

I can't wait to send this little sweetheart to someone who needs a hug!

Seize the Cupcake

This is about as clean and simple as I get!  *LOL*

The faux stitching was done with a Copic Multiliner.

The stamp set used was Hero Arts Cupcakes.

I colored the cupcakes with my Copics and didn't bother with any shading at all.  I just left them plain and simple.  Although I did add a subtle bit of glitter and shine with some glitter glue - it didn't photograph well.

The washi tape is from My Mind's Eye and it's their Adorbs collection.

That's it!  Other than a little time spent on simple coloring this was so quick I could see doing it for mass production.

Hugs Card

Here's a little card to cheer someone up, or just say hello.

The paper is from Basic Grey's Kioshi 6 by 6 pad.  The banner is a Spellbinders die from their Ribbon Banners set.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occasions set.  It's stamped with Rich Razzleberry Ink.

The image is from Kraftin' Kimmie and her name is Charlotte.

I used a Rich Razzleberry marker to make dots and dashes around the purple layer.

The bling is just from the $1 spot at Michael's.

Aloha Card

I ended up with a weird color tone in this photo.  Still haven't ordered my light box so I'm having lighting issues a lot.  Oh well.

The adorable image is from The Greeting Farm and she's Cheeky Beach.  I colored her with Copics and added some Stickles to her hair flower.  I used Fruit Punch and Yellow.  The beach ball is covered in Glossy Accents.

The sentiment is from Mr Cricut Crazy's Summertime fun set.  I used Grapefruit embossing powder by Zing - it's so bright and fun :)

The twine is from The Twinery and I used a little white button from the $1 section of Micheal's.

The paper is from Echo Park's Summer Days 6 by 6 pad.

Sew Stylish Card

For this card I used the adorable Drucilla from Kraftin' Kimmie.  She's colored with Copics that I attempted to match to the paper I used.

Paper is My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky 6 by 6 pad.

Sentiment is from Hero Arts Sew Stylish, stamped in Pretty in Pink Stampin' Up Ink.  It's on a Labels One Nestability that has Bashful Blue Stampin' Up ink around the edges.

The faux stitching was done using a Chocolate Chip Stampin' Up marker.

The ribbon is just random from my stash, most likely purchased at Michael's.

Cheeky Geeky Card

Here's a little card I put together.

The image featured in the center is Cheeky Geeky by The Greeting Farm.  I just think she is the cutest thing.  I colored her using my Copics.  She is up on one thin layer of foam tape for just a touch of dimension and pop.

Oh, and I'll quickly mention the technique I use to stamp her lips.  I ink up the whole stamp with my Tuxedo Black Memento, then I just wipe away the ink from her lips and quickly use a Stampin' Up marker to color them.  Then I stamp and I get everything in black, except the lips have a great pop of color.  I do this for all my Cheeky Cherry collection images.

The papers are from My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Fly a Kite 6 by 6 pad.

I used a Chocolate Chip Stampin' Up Marker to do the faux stitching.

I used a Stampin' Up Scallop Border punch in a couple places.

The orange gems were custom done by me :)  I just took regular clear Irock gems, and after I attached them to my card I colored them with an orange Copic.  Pretty cool, huh?  I think I will have to start doing this a lot more often.  I would test one first though, I tried red and it did not look as nice so I'm glad I did a test run.

The ribbon is from Papertrey Ink and it's their Pure Poppy Saddle Stitch.

Food Card Set

Here's a little card set I whipped up.  The cards all measure 4 inches square not counting the circle that sticks up over the top.

The stamps are from Sweet Stamp Shop's Perfect Match.  I was so excited about these images I couldn't pick just one set, so I decided to make 3 cards.

All of the patterned papers are scraps from my Echo Park SUmmer Days 6 by 6 pad.  I had to make some design compromises to make the best use of the scraps and have all the cards with the same layout.

Along the bottom of the cards I used a Scallop Border Punch from Stampin' Up.  That piece is 3/4 inches tall.

Above that I used some Twine from the Twinery.  Each card features a button.  The blue one comes from the Miachael's dollar section and the other 2 are Papertrey Ink.

For the patterned strips behind the images they are just 1/2 inch tall.

I used my Nestabilities to cut out a scalloped circle in color, and then a plain white circle.  The scallop is laid flat to the card, with the top portion hanging off the top.  The white portion is up on pop dots.

I used Copics to color all the images and used a Copic Multilier to add lots of Stitching Llines and dots.  The little dots are all around the scallops, but they seem to be hiding in the photograph.

I'm entering this in the Sweet Stamp Shop Use What You Have Challenge.  Here's a photo of my scrap pile from this paper pad that I'm trying to use up.

Color My World Cards With a Video

I decided to make the same card in 2 different color schemes.  One more feminine and one more masculine.  I think they both turned out super cute.

The stamps I used are by unity.  They came in the Groovy Card Kit by Archiver's.  I don't know if they are available separately or if they are exclusive to that kit.

There is a video at the bottom of this post, but for those of you who can't, or don't wish to watch the video I'll include some details.

To get the paint cans all lined up properly I took a piece of paper the same size as the card front and folded it so that it had 6 same size rectangles.  Then I cut this up with my paper trimmer and used removable adhesive to lay them out as a grid.  I removed one at a time to help me get the placement right.  I explain this better in the video with the visual, but that's the basic idea.

Happiest Wishes On Your Birthday Card

Here's a fun little card I put together for a young girl.  I wanted something bright and fun with some sparkle.

The image is from Saturated Canary, her name is Starla.  She's a digital image.  I'm not sure if she's also available in a rubber stamp or not.

I liked the image, but she is originally holding a wand with a mustache on the end and I didn't care for that so I changed it to a star.  I did this by cutting off the mustache and stamping a separate star from Sp & Company's Lucky Day set.  When  I glued my girl to the patterned paper I attached the star too.

She is colored using Copics, but I apologize I didn't write down the colors when I worked on her.  I used Yellow Stickles on the wand and Diamond Stickles all over the stars on her face and shirt as well as the polka dots on her leg warmers.  I spent a considerable amount of time fussy cutting her so that the patterned paper would show around her.

The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny's Ambrosia 6 by 6 pad.  I cut it to 4 by 5 and 1/4 and mounted it on the vanilla card base.

The metal row of embellishments is by Mark Richards and is called Nailheads.

The sentiment comes from Stampin' Up's Happiest Birthday Wishes.  After I stamped it I trimmed the cardstock to fit it perfectly, then rounded the corners, and finished off with Diamond Stickles all around it.

That's it!  Most of the time was spent coloring and cutting so everything else was quick and simple to show off the image.  I'm still not confident about my coloring, but I do enjoy it very, very much.  I find that since I enjoy fussy cutting that really helps because I can have color bleed outside the lines and then just cut the evidence of that away without having to try and push the color back into the image.

I'm feeling well and getting my crafty mojo back.  Fingers crossed that continues.  I've been on a very restrictive diet for about a month and I think it's made a big difference for my health .  I believe that I have food sensitivities contributing to all my health issues.  So, I paid for some testing and have been working with a dietician and think I am really seeing results.  Yay for that!  I'm going to try to start posting regularly again, and if I'm still feeling well in a few weeks I figure it would be safe to start some new video series stuff I've been planning :)  *Fingers crossed*

Colorful Birthday Card

The standard A2 card base is a grey from Papertrey Ink.

For the colorful layer I started with a plain white piece of cardstock cut to 4 by 5 and 1/4.  I sponged sections of color using the Stampin' Up inks Pixie Pink, Lavender Lace, and Tempting Turquoise.  After all the colors were applied I used the Tweed Pattern stamp from Hero Arts and some Memento Tuxedo black ink to finish the effect.  

I used the Spellbinders Labels 1 set to cut a shape to rest my cupcake on.  The shape is on one layer of thin foam tape, and the cupcake is on another layer.  The cupcake is from the Hero Arts set Cupcakes.  I colored it with Copics and added some Cotton Candy Stickles to the frosting.  That color of Stickles isn't super sparkly like most of the colors are,  it kind of reminds me of a dusting of sugar - very cool for food :)

I hand cut a little banner for the sentiment.  The sentiment is also from the Hero Arts Cupcake set.  I stamped it in Versa Mark and embossed it with some Zing powder in Grapefruit.  The button was from Papertrey ink and the twine was black and white, but hand died to have purple mixed with the black (friends and I made various colors for a swap.)  The banner is on a layer of pop dots.

I think this card would be great for a teenage girl, or even a younger girl may enjoy the bright colors.

Unicorn Shaker Card

I liked the idea of using this castle image for a shaker card.  I got the idea from this fabulous card by Yainea.  Mine is different other than that, but I still wanted to give proper credit for the fun shaker element.

I decided to create a cloud background and add some lines to my castle for texture.  All done with my Copics.  I made some fun grass too, but you only see it when the shaker goodies move.  Inside the shaker I have a little silver glitter and some faux snow.

The unicorn and castle images are from Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After.  The fun patterned paper and sentiment came from the DCWV mat stack Once Upon a Time.

I decided not to add to specific of a sentiment to this.  I think it could work for a new baby girl, or a young girl's birthday.

Shimmery Butterfly Card

For this card I started off with a white piece of cardstock cut at 4 inches by 5 and 1/4 inches.  I stamped various butterflies from the Stampendous set called butterflies using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  After I stamped all the butterflies I colored them in with Copics.

I attached the white piece to a black base fo 4 and 1/4 by 5 and 1/2 inches.  At this point I sprayed both of these layers very liberally with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist.  As usual these details are difficult to photograph but the sparkle in person is pretty awesome.  I especially love it on the black section.

I outlined around the white layer with some Black Diamond Stickles.

The banner was cut from light grey cardstock using the Spellbinders Ribbon Banners set.

The sentiment was stamped in Stampin' Up's Taken With Teal ink.  I used SP & Company sets Mix N Match Basics, and Mix N Match Holidays.  I went around the banner with a pink marker to make stitching lines.  I wasn't satisfied with the look so I covered those with Diamond Stickles.  The pink showed through the glitter and it actually came out pretty neat.

Get Well Wishes

I've really been on a kick with my Copics lately.  Too much fun!  Although I desperately want some colors so I can try blonde hair too.  Until then all my characters will be brunette.  *LOL*

The adorable little character is by The Greeting Farm her name is Cheeky Nurse.  She colored with my Copics and there is a tiny bit of Stickles on her eyelids.  To get the red mouth I inked her up normally.  Then I used a baby wipe to remove the dark ink from her lips.   I used a Stampin' Up marker over them to give them their lovely red color and stamped.

The banner outline and sentiment are from SP & Company's Happy Banners set. 

The papers are from the Echo Park 6 by 6 pad Summer Days.

Follow Your Heart It Knows The Way

This card all started with the butterfly.  

She's from an Inkadinado cling set called Butterflies.  I stamped her in some Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with my Copics.  Then I cut her out and spent a long time carefully covering most of her with Crystal Stickles, and then finishing off with Black Diamond Stickles around the edges and such.  That was very tricky to do without smearing everything, but the effect was totally worth it.  

I let her dry for about an hour, and then finished the drying process with my heat tool so I could move on, and also because i was hoping it would curl the paper - as luck would have it, the paper curled beautifully

The trail behind her is a stamp from The Paper Studio called Flourish.  Stamped in Versamark and then embossed with Stampendous embossing powder in the color Star Dust, it's clear powder with lots of silver glitter mixed in.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's set Whimsical Words and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

The little mirrored gems are from Irock.

Hello Easel Card

This is just a simple easel card in a standard 4 and 1/4 by 5 and 1/2 size card front.

The adorable image is from The Greeting Farm and she's from the Cheeky Cherry Collection.  Her name is Cheeky Chat, isn't she cute?!  I colored her using my Copics and then added some Stickles to her hair barettes, shoes, eyeshadow, and the heart on the phone.  Then I added Glossy Accents to the phone.

I took this other shot of the card to try to show off the Glossy Accents details a little bit more.

The super cute papers are from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky 6 by 6 pad.  I have been hoarding this paper with the hello chat bubbles and I knew this was the perfect card to use it for.

For the sentiment I used a chat bubble from SP & Company's Turtle-y Awesome set.  The sentiment is from the Hero Art's Mi Casa set and is stamped in SU's Rich Razzleberry.
